I have been OC'ing just about everyday. Recent ones I haven't mentioned are The Waffle House, K-Mart, at the US Bank, Mierer's and I sure there is a place or two I still can't remember.
Lthrnck, you got me curious: Sometimes gunstores (of all places) have policies which allow concealed carry--provided the gun stays that way--but proscribe carrying a loaded gun openly, they want it brought in unloaded and cased up. Reason I thought of this is because you aren't far from Vandalia, which has at least three firearms stores, not counting a quick swing over to Gander Mountain. Have you OC'd in any of those places, and what if anything was said?
As I recall Olde English welcomes concealed carry licensees, but ask that the firearm be kept concealed, right? Just curious Lthrnck, am I correct in assuming that you are a CHL holder? If so, couldn't you have just covered up, gone in, and been in compliance with their policy? Or, am I missing something here?
Yes, Old English welcomes CHL.. Yes I do have a CHL, and Yes I could have just covered up. But it's wrong.. so I left.
Okay, just wanted to be sure I understood things. This would be one of those times when the two of us will have to agree to disagree; that sort of policy does not seem unreasonable to me, given some of the poor firearms "etiquette" I've observed at gun shows and stores. However I don't wish to argue the point.
a gun store denying 2A rights seems unreasonable to me.
I don't know. It's their right, to set the policies there, as they see fit. Stupid, perhaps, but, not unreasonable. Kinda like a clothing store, with a 'no t-shirts' sign in the window....
