Some of you have doubtless seen Kimber's new pepper spray "double barrel" gizmo. Took an AIM Surplus/Dayton gunstore trip sort of enroute to the OCO meeting at Golden Corral yesterday. AIM was out of the Guardian Angel, but it turns out that Olde English gun store near Vandalia had 'em on sale at the same price.
Took the plunge and bought one. If you have room left on your tacticool batbelt this device seems easier to tote (and hide) than many typical pepper spray canisters. The belt clip itself seems a bit slippery on my Wilderness nylon belt, but I think a small piece of 3M Safety Walk tape will cure this.
So last night I went out to an area watering hole, where of course firearms are a no-no. The Guardian Angel fits in my IWB Glock 21 holster pretty well...
Further evaluation has left me disappointed in the thing, in large part due to the lousy plastic pocket clip that's supposed to keep the thing on one's belt or pocket. Even after using the 3M tape to give the clip more "grabbiness", it won't stay put on a Wilderness instructor belt worth a darn!
Think I'll e-mail Kimber with my gripe and see if there's a 'Guardian Angel Version 2.0' in the works...
