Just my opinion perhaps, but the folks living right nearby don't need to have that info about me. My open carrying is usually done when away from home.
I have been carrying, open and concealed, since 1972 in and around Toledo, all of my neighbors have seen me loading gear in my vehicle to go to the range, hunting, work, whatever, and it has never been a problem.
I usually carry "semi" concealed, meaning I casually cover it but don't really care if it shows or not.
I have found that, in most cases, if you act as though what you are doing is normal and correct, most people will react in the same way. (not just in relation to firearms btw)
However if you act as though you are trying to hide something, most people seem to be able to sense that and react by being uneasy and suspicious.
I open carry around the outside of the house all the time but this is due to the area I live in. My side of town has crime and drug related activities. I open carry so they know I'm ready and not to mess with me.
I oc around my house since we got soo many dogs here, scared one of them could turn mean. _________________ blaming guns for violence is like blaming a spoon for someone being fat
I OC around the house all the time. One neighbor does not like it one bit. She even called the police, and tried to make me out as being some kind of gun nut. (I took it as a compliment ) The police basically told her to quit being a snoopy neighbor. She hasn't said anything since then, but I'm sure it drives her nuts that she can't stop me. She HATES guns.
Went to the city council meeting on the 28th. Was the only one there, except for one other man and his wife. Found out he was being sworn in as a new council person to fill a spot vacated.
Never heard a word from the city the enitre 2 weeks since I was detained. They said they would keep me informed. That was a line of crap... Got to the meeting, checked the agenda.. and low and behold... what's on the agenda...
The local ord. for the weapons in the park. I looked at the "Press" handout they had. The changes they were going to propose..I assume they were advised by their Law Director to make them....had every instance were the word "Firearm" was written..these were all lined out.
But for some reason they dediced to table that one for further review, once they knew I was there..told me it would take 90 day or more to research it. I told them that was unacceptable. We battled back and forth for a bit, and then they adjorned into "Executive Session" effectively ending the meeting.
So gonna get back with the lawyer and see if we can light a fire under there butts and get things going..
